My name is Eric Weiss, and I am the founder and principal consultant of The Worcester Group, Inc. This is my soapbox, where I have my say about the business environment, about BI technology, and about media coverage of both. I hope also to make it a forum for contrasting points of view, so please feel free to comment on my posts. No personal attacks, please, on anyone or anything, and keep it to the point. But otherwise this is a free-ranging discussion. The Worcester Group, Inc. is a Business Intelligence Systems consultancy. “Business Intelligence†is information that addresses the key management questions:
How are we doing, and how do we know?
What are we doing right?
What are we doing wrong?
How can we do better?
These are questions that are intimately linked with economics and government policy, so I make occasional forays into those areas. But while I am personally very partisan, I try to keep that to a minimum, and I hope other commentators will do the same. We are basically all in the same boat: trying to keep our heads on a fiscal rollercoaster, where BI serves as a seatbelt, or a lifeline.
